This DVD by Ceroc Australia, includes teaching by four different couples. Each couple brings a different technique and a different skill set to the presentation making it diverse and interesting. The Disk includes 8 routines covering more than 30 moves. Each routine is taught thoroughly by one partner with a mic - sometimes the leader and sometimes the follower, depending on the routine and the couple. HERE'S A PREVIEW
AUDIO: Instructors are wearing mics and the audio has been captured without room noise. It is very clear and easy to understand.
VIDEO: The video quality is good and the lighting is good. The aspect ratio is 4:3.
NAVIGATION: The navigation allows you to select. The routine danced to music, the instruction, and the slow motion dance through. You cannot jump directly to an individual move within a routine.
INSTRUCTION: The instruction is very thorough with each move being demonstrated as part of the routine and in isolation during the lesson. Each teacher, with a unique style, does an excellent job of including the details required to complete the move successfully.
Extras: The disk has an extras section which includes competition footage of advanced and masters finals as well as the top two cabarets. You are bound to find these inspirational also.
SUMMARY:
The moves contained in this disk include everything from challenging rhythmic floorcraft to high degree of difficulty mini lifts and dips. They will take time to master and must be practiced and performed with consideration for your safety and that of your partner and fellow dancers. There is plenty of detail here so that you won't miss any key point that you need to do these moves well. The video was produced in 2003 and reflects the influences on Ceroc and modern jive of that time, however, the content can easily be adapted to your prefered style and personality.
If you're an intermediate to advanced dancer, you will get a lot of enjoyment out of this disk which includes plenty of content from a diversity of flavours.
