Awesome news for Newcastle: Scott and Melina are coming back to visit danceVibe in September 2011
(Sep 9th-11th).

Venues: All workshops are at District Park Tennis Club, Lambton Rd Broadmeadow.
Friday Dance Party is also at District Park Tennis Club.
Saturday is at the Place Charlestown, a new venue to danceVibe- plenty of great eateries nearby, and boasts a 200 square metre sprung dance floor.

About your Teachers: Scott and Melina (Australia’s hottest West Coast Swing Partnership)

Scott is the top Australia’s top ranked West Coast Swing dancer! He travels regularly to the states to continually push his own dancing. He is incredibly passionate about West Coast Swing and is renowned for his measured movement and his smooth, fun style, and intuitive musical feel.

Scott also brings many years of experience and loads of smooth styling and musicality to Modern Jive. He is a regular on the podium at the highest level at all the major Modern Jive Events! He is an excellent, experienced teacher who loves sharing his knowledge on to apply dance concepts to the ever-evolving Modern jive.

Melina, after winning her first US Open title at the age of 12, has travelled nationally and internationally to compete, perform and teach. She is a 3 time US Open junior titleholder, 2 time California Swing Dance Hall of Fame nominee, and multiple Classic Division and Jack n Jill titleholder. Today, Melina is one ranked one of the top WCS dancers in the world and travels extensively across the USA, Australia and Europe to teach, judge and perform. She is known for her funky style and infectious personality.

Together they make a dynamite team who are passionate about helping grow West Coast Swing in Australia.

Friday Modern Jive Workshop 7.00pm – 8.15pm
Evolution of Modern Jive – A View on Today’s Technique and Styling.
Intermediate 1 and above. Only $20

Friday Dance Party  Blues and Soul Dance Party.
Music will be predominantly smooth blues, soul, and with some cool RnB and funky pop thrown in.
Suitable to Modern Jive and West Coast Swing.

$15 (Includes Freestyle performance).
Doors Open 8.15pm. Participants only before that time.
Dance Party entry is $10 if doing Friday Night Workshop ($15 otherwise).
